September 2026 RMIP Updates

RMIP Renewal Awards

Last October there were two RMIP funding announcements, intended to support the continued development of their proposed adult stem cell therapeutics from previously funded RMIP projects. We also recognize the significant effort and commitment required to develop and submit competitive applications, and we thank all investigators who contributed proposals and appreciate the continued engagement and scientific leadership of the entire RMIP community.

We are pleased to recognize the investigators who recently received funding awards:

Dr. Graça Almeida-Porada - cGMP Manufacture Of FVIII-Expressing Placental Cells For Hemophilia A

Dr. Christopher Breuer - A Study Evaluating the Safety and Efficacy of Second-Generation Tissue Engineered Vascular Grafts (TEVG2)

Drs. Darrell Kotton and Finn Hawkins - Generation of functional lung stem cells from human iPSCs Dr. Jeffrey Stern - Transplantation of Adult, Tissue-Specific RPE Stem Cells as Therapy for Non-exudative Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)

We look forward to following the progress of their projects.

If you have recently submitted or published a manuscript related to your RMIP award, please submit the citation to jstratford@rti.org.

Many scientific journals now require investigators to provide an accession number for shared data to be supplied during manuscript submission. BioData Catalyst can generate this identifier. To avoid delays at submission, please reach out early (email to jstratford@rti.org, or come to office hours) to ensure you have your accession number ready for manuscript submission.

Meet with Us

BDC now has office hours each Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM ET to assist investigators with aggregating and harmonizing RMIP study data on the ecosystem.
