The last of the molecular data generated by the IDCCH is currently being uploaded to BioData Catalyst for analysis by study teams and preparation for sharing with the broader research community. Study registering with dbGaP is a prerequisite for data sharing. Registration itself does not release data to the research community, so even if your study is still enrolling participants or collecting data, you can and should register now.
A key aspect of registration is establishing data use limitations that are in line with consent of the person who donated the adult stem cells. You should have received an email with a few short questions that will help the DMC to coordinate these limitation for your study. Dr. Breuer will present on his clinical trial evaluating safety and efficacy of the second generation TEVG as vascular conduits for Children with congenital heart disease. Presentation Abstract: Children with single-ventricle congenital heart disease currently receive synthetic Fontan conduits that cannot grow and are prone to thrombosis and stenosis, leading to repeat interventions and long-term complications. Tissue engineered vascular grafts (TEVGs) using bone marrow–seeded biodegradable scaffolds have shown that these conduits can remodel into living, growing neovessels, with a characteristic phase of early narrowing followed by spontaneous reverse remodeling. This clinical research integrates computational modeling and mechanobiology to define the drivers of neotissue formation and stenosis and to optimize second-generation TEVGs, which are being tested as extracardiac Fontan conduits in an ongoing clinical trial.

We continue to coordinate one-on-one meetings with study teams to discuss a data linkage strategy. This strategy will ensure that the cell characterization data is prepared and formatted appropriately for seamless sharing with the study team. The goal is to facilitate efficient data transfer and analysis.
