The NHLBI BioData Catalyst Data Management Core (DMC) is pleased to share a BDC-DRAFT Request for Comment (RFC) titled Study-Level Metadata for Regenerative Medicine Innovation Projects, available here. As RMIP investigators are both subject matter experts and data generators, your input is essential in shaping the data management guidance for this initiative.
It is critical that we receive comments by June 13, 2025 (a reminder on the BDC RFC process). After June 13th the DMC will integrate the comments received into the Data Management Plan that will become the official standard and establish the expectations for how investigators manage the data for maximal value and sharing.
Purpose: to document the proposed study-level information and descriptors (metadata). Metadata has been proposed for five separate domains that are key for understanding how the data was generated, any limitations inherent to the data, and how to properly analyze data and interpret the results.
