Supporting Documentation Guidance

Within each Primary Project on BDC, investigators are asked to upload supporting documents that provide context about the study design, the study population, the data collection mechanism or instrument, and data processing and analysis. This information is essential to facilitate the appropriate interpretation of data and results.

Supporting documents that should be uploaded to BDC and associated with the study data may include but are not limited to:

  • Study Protocol
  • Operation Manuals
  • Standard Operating Procedures
  • Case Report Forms (CRFs)
  • Study Data Dictionaries and Code Books

We understand that investigators may have concerns about disclosing proprietary information in these documents. To address these concerns, investigators may redact specific portions, or remove entire sections when appropriate, of their documents that contain proprietary information

This ensures that sensitive information is protected while still sharing valuable study context. We aim to strike a balance between sharing and protecting information to foster a collaborative and transparent research environment.
