File Tagging Guidance

Keyword tags can be added to keywords that make it easier to identify, organize, and subset files. Seven Bridges has documentation describing the mechanisms for adding tags to files. The DMC can help support the programmatic tagging of files using the API to add the recommended tags. Study investigators are encouraged to add other relevant keyword tags.

The DMC recommends that at a minimum the following tags be added to the data files:

  • The identifier for the RMIP participant, consisting of the first three components of the file prefix (e.g., RMIP_001_001)

  • The sample discriminator, consisting of the fourth, fifth, and sixth  components of the file prefix (e.g., A001_B, B012_A)

  • The data type code for the file as indicated in Appendix A of the DMP.

  • The file extension

  • An indicator if the file is considered “raw” or “derived” from downstream processing.
