Pursuant to NIH policy on the sharing of research data (NOT-OD-03-032) and the NIH Genomic Data Sharing Policy (NOT-OD-14-124 and NOT-OD-19-023), the NHLBI has classified BDC as an NIH-designated repository. Therefore, in general a principal investigator or Institution cannot opt out of having their study’s data in BDC. Under certain circumstances where there is a specific sensitivity or risk, investigators are encouraged to discuss any concerns with the BDC team and/or the NHLBI Data Access Committee (centraldac@mail.nih.gov).
